Running sighhhhh…… I just love to run. The question I hear most often from people is ” how do I start liking to run?” The idea that a person dislikes running is incomprehensible to me. I try to think back to when I started and I remember it being difficult. Shin splints, blisters, random dogs chasing me….those parts weren’t any fun but I’ve never felt more freedom, reflective or alive.
To my friends out there who hate running, all I can say is find a buddy to venture out with. Run with someone who is either starting like you or has more experience. Find a great location and relax. The more you run the easier it gets. Don’t go out on the first few tries and expect to run for hours. Put on your big girl pants and take one step at a time. Before you know it, you’ll be running your first 5k. Happy Trails!
