Summer is finally here! The last few weeks of the school year are always a blur. Deadlines, assessments, celebrations, last minute skills to tackle and checklists to complete. Thankfully, that’s all done and now it’s time to reclaim my house, organize closets, blog about the things I love, take an education related brain break and set new fitness goals.
Anyone that says that working out everyday or 5 days a week while keeping a full time job is easy doesn’t have to play the balancing game. Something always has to give a bit in order for me to fit my workouts in during the year. I know some super trooper ladies that go to the gym at 5:00am daily just to try to maintain their fitness. (not me, I crave those zzzzzz’s)
Now that summer is here I’m embracing my “SAHM Hat” and adding some outdoor workouts that lucky for me…..my dog and kids even enjoy. ;)
Yes, I do pop in some Beachbody videos. I mean who doesn’t love Shaun T but I also find myself donning my “kid at heart hat” and using the monkey bars or even the trampoline just for enjoyment.
I guess the point is that we are all over extended to some degree. Remember that the balancing act is difficult but set some goals and pick which hat you want to wear. Taking time to dip your toes in the sand or to play a game of tag won’t set you back too far. Whatever you are doing just try to make it as fun as possible. Life is too short for fun to happen just when you have time. Make time for fitness, adventures and even cleaning closets if that’s what you choose. In the meantime today I’m sporting my creativity hat with a touch of cleaning because the maid did a lousy job this school year.
